Stay tuned for more updates......

An Example Of Good Customer Service

Hi all!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the good weather (well, it's good here in K/W, Ontario!).

Our buyer agent (estate agent for those in the UK) had sent out invitations to all her clients for a spa day....on her!!! Yes, you read that right!!!

We visited a resort called Le Scandinave in the Blue Mountain area of Collingwood, Ontario to have a relaxing time. Transportation was also provided for us as well to and from the spa resort as well as breakfast and lunch...we did not pay for a single thing!!!! Collingwood by the way is about 1 1/2 hours drive north / north east from Kitchener.

Here is a picture of us when we just arrived.....

The spa contains 3 outside hot tubs, 2 cold pools, a 3 tier steam room and two saunas. It was just a nice day to kick back, chill out and do nothing all day...and we did not have to pay for it...another picture is below:

We made more friends on this trip (again!!) and even met some of our new neighbours who we will be living near shortly....another picture is needed....someone is relaxing below....

Now a comment to the UK readers of this blog:

Can you imagine an estate agent taking you on a spa day, out of their own pockets, and you did not have to pay for anything....yeah...ok...good luck with that!!! We think not!!! A lesson to all back there......CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT!!!!

Canadians, like the people down south (the yanks) know a thing or two about customer service. We have written a letter to our buyer agent thanking her for taking her own free time out to organize this for us....NICE!

Must go now and catch some sleepzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............

ABC.....123.....CNE!!!

Hello again everyone,

Yesterday (August 31st 2008), we attended the CNE, the Canadian National Exibition. The CNE is basically a fair in Toronto which has been yearly event for 129 years so far. It has grown in size every year and and has lots of events for all the family, such as rides, free shows, bands and stalls to buy everything from electronics to homeware.

We were invited by our really good friends Bob and Lorie and their two kids, Elyhsa & Jeff. We had such a great time with them.

Again, as with most of our entries, we have included a selection of photographs that were taken which are below:

Oh dear......

Below is a picture of a sand sculpture

From left to right, Bob, Jeff, Elysha and Lorie enjoying a break at the CNE below

A picture of the CN Tower in the distance........

Ladies, you should peel the banana first before eating it!!!

We saw a couple of free shows, the first one was an air show which lasted 3 hours!!! Some pictures are below, but we don't have a very good camera for these type of fast moving pictures, so they were all taken with a bit of luck involved!!!

We also saw an escape artist show close up...well, as close as you can get with all the crowd as it was sooooo busy:

All this for the cost of 9 bucks!! A good time was had by all!!!

House Update....No1

512 Country Clair Place.....

Two entries in one day, I hear you cry!!! Good isn't it???

Well, that time has finally come, our dream home is being built. Building this week started on Tuesday 26th August. We are very excited as we have come a long way, and finally to see the start of our home being built makes us very happy indeed.

Pictures are below on the start of the dream......as we have said before in previous entries, it is not much to look at, but give it time...well about 3 1/2 months, and it will be...

Guess What Brian Likes To Do???

EAT!!!!

Yep, hello again folks. It's about that time again where the Emery's put pen to paper (well...of sorts??!) and update you on what has been going on.

We visited a ribfest last Saturday August 23rd (yep, you read right...a ribfest!!) in a place called Guelph, which is about 30 minutes from here. Basically, it is just an excuse for the top ribbers (that is what they are called...don't laugh, this is serious business!) sell their wares to the public at one big event. Of course Brian was at the front of the line!

Anyway, it was not just about food, there was a car show as well as several bands playing on stage, it was a funway to spend an afternoon just chilling out, having some ribs and shooting the breeze with some friends.....

Some pictures we took are below:

Above Elaine is standing by a car with no less than 12 tv screens fitted, 3 on the front grill!!!
Below is our friend Sam, enjoying a beef rib...or 3....

Guess what Elaine is drinking???

More friends...Bob, Sam and some guy called......

So all in all....good weather, good company, and good FFFFFFOOOOOODDDDDDDDD!!!!

Brian's Family

Hi there again folks.

Hope everyone out there is well and happy.

Brian met some family members recently in a place called Kingston, about 3 1/2 hours drive east of Kitchener.

This was an emotional time for Brian as these are members of his family that he met when he was very young, one he had never met ever until 3 weeks ago!!!!!

We will not go into details here, but let us just say that a lot of catching up is required with aunts, uncles, and cousins that Brian did not know even existed!!

Here is a photo of Brian with his aunts just outside Kingston's military museum. From left to right within the photo, Aunt Ethle (who Brian had never met), Aunt Dalia (who Brian last saw when he was 17) and Aunt Greta (who Brian met when he was about 5!!!)...and of course, we know who the gentleman is on the right, don't we?? (um....yeah??!)
